Introducing Innkeeper & Chef Yvonne
My career in the culinary field started in the 80s. After coming to the conclusion that my passion was food, I put myself through culinary school at Newbury College in Boston where I received a degree in Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management.
My love of food comes from my family. I grew up in a family that would sit around the table on Sundays and share a meal that my grandmother started cooking at 6am.
On my mother’s side, I come from an Italian background, and family and food were one. Growing up in the Tripani Family, I learned a lot about food and cooking from my grandmother, mother and my aunts. I have carried the recipes I was taught with me through the years and applied here at Tryon Resort and the Lodge on Lake Lure.
My philosophy about cooking is like my grandmother, keep it simple. Simple ingredients, make perplex flavors.
